All things Easy Renovations Transform Houses to Homes

All Things Easy Renovations transform houses to homes we love. Turn your home into a love affair as you complete your dream sheet of work projects. And, if it is a project I personally did with my own two hands, rest assured you can do this too. Being extremely tight with our hard earned cash keeps most of these upcoming projects fairly inexpensive when it comes to home improvements. The tools are very limited as well when it comes to getting the job done. Over the coming months I hope to have several project articles to share. Please visit now and then and let me ‘show and tell’. I’d like to influence you and help turn your house into a loved home. Let me be your personal ‘home’ therapist.

Additional Guest Bath Remodel: The guest bath is in our 1994 townhouse we purchased two years ago. It was a sickly yellow in color but it has a recently installed cabinet. The cabinet is white but an oak towel bar and oak towel ring were not helping out the appearance. Let me explain what I did. See a few pictures for the current guest bath; as well as hear what I would still like to do for the final finish. Read what will be part of a kitchen remodel:

Change the Door with the Handle: Watch these doors transform before your eyes. Paint or don’t paint, but take a good look at the handle. This is a fairly inexpensive project and not complicated at all. The theme for all of us is if Betsy (me) can do it then so can we. I make classic mistakes, and in this case, I bought handles that drive me nuts if they are slightly crooked. See what I purchase after the return of the entire first batch:

Collectibles Shelf: If your collection is getting a little unruly and has doubled in size, then maybe you can find a special spot for a shelf on the wall. You can make it any length, just find the studs with your stud finder. Of course, shelves can be for kitchen dishes, books and anything else you want to display. I love this shelf because I can hang on it if I want, and it’s not going anywhere. It only takes a few hours and is one person job. See the location that won’t work for paintings but is perfect for our collectibles shelf:

Colonial to Craftsman Railing: This railing is Transformed in twenty minutes. First impressions are very important when it comes to simple design changes to love your home more. I do not like colonial style and love craftsman. See the simple fix in the design change that is awesome in its simplicity, and inspiring me to paint or stain the railing for a different color. In this case, I will try to be patient about the color and see what kitchen cabinets we get in a few years. In the meantime see the railings that need paint!

Create a Deck Railing for Privacy: I am challenged with my eyes zooming in onto anything I know is off kilter or just plain ugly in my space. My mind launches into envisioning how this problem can be fixed or hidden. Every morning we go out on our deck to have a cup of coffee, I narrow in on the rusted air conditioner and the electrical junk on the house siding. This is another easy renovation, and in less than a day let’s hide this stuff! Then let’s do a remodel of the railing:

We get a Beautiful Gazebo: Take ownership of your house. This is not an easy renovation, but is easy to get contractors for! We had no where to sit in our backyard with its lovely lawn. The 12′ x 12′ deck is our only refuge from the sun under the umbrella. Solution- we are going to get a larger spot of shade! And, NO more grass to mow! We have a wonderful gazebo now, sitting on a concrete pad, providing all the shade we need, plus our first set of matching patio furniture. See the results of our favorite change to our home:

To see the photos better just place your mouse over the image and left click. This will enlarge it for you. If something needs changing then set your course and plans to make it happen. If you really hate some of your furniture then work to replace it. Change out little things like towels to make a bathroom seem different or replace sinks and faucets. Make it yours, just be patient. Do those easy renovations that transform your rooms and yard. Make sure you get help when you need it, and sometimes just sit back, be thankful and have a nice glass of wine!
