Those of us who have many years of clothes shopping have a closet filled with lots of Retro Vintage Fashion. These clothes are lovingly cared for and cherished. I explained recently to my daughter-in-law that we seasoned women need larger closets! Over the years there will be the rare piece of apparel that is a classic now. We are not parting with these special pieces even if they have not been worn for several years. Why, because they are classics and now our prized possession Retro Vintage clothes?! How to get them?

Technically ‘Vintage’ is a term describing an item that is thirty years old or more. Once something is one hundred years old then it is an antique. So, most of us are not antiques yet, but most of us are Vintage along with many of our clothes! I love being in a position now to replace some of my vintage collection I have, and replacing these with new and classic lines of Apparel. The game plan for me is never to pay full price and that is the plan I’m sticking to.

Looking to the Past
Over the years many of my favorites are proving to be good choices. Little did I know many years back that my collection of Levi denim jackets is more popular now than ever. The bonus is the jackets are ageless. When I say ageless, these wonderful jackets are great for a one year old and the likes of us over sixty! I can continue to look for these favorite jackets of mine as long as there are colors I am lacking. However, Orange is not going to find its way into my closet. Or even Pippin Apple Green. I just made up the ‘pippin apple’ part, but boy is that an awful color for my fair skin. New Styles are waiting for me to select and become my Vintage Fashion, with years of Enjoyment, and of course use:
A new direction for Vintage in our Clothing choices
Now and then it’s just a good idea to ponder the direction our clothing style is going, in otherwards, do we have the look we want? There is a big shift in my life and it’s in the direction of Western Wear. I currently have a Classic Vintage denim full length skirt that is perfect with my cowgirl boots, however, I really need to find the right blouse. Gee, I’m going to have to do some searching for just the right top. And this might take quite a long time.
And maybe another denim vest is in order, but not too ‘cowgirlly’. This is the perfect scenario for me to shop Guilt Free. After all, I need to represent this wonderful state of Wyoming better. Embrace all of the West as much as I can in my western gear. And of course, I do need another pair of cowgirl boots. And………maybe a really nice leather belt!
Try something new for you and still vintage. Maybe linen is a good direction for this western seeking clothing fan. Linen is an incredibly great material and perfect for warm and breezy days. Maybe an English/Western look will be good, something that has an older classic look which will be new to me but create a retro vintage fashion going into the future.

Another new direction
I’m changing directions on you, the reader, but part of the new direction of shopping is allowing myself to shop online with a beautiful glass of Fine Wine. My husband is drinking our new wine (new to us) while watching the Vintage show Dragnet! In the meantime, I get to be on my new business computer sharing a little part of my life with you. I’m getting ready for another great session of hunting down my clothing style. The wine will just have to wait until I can give its’ the deserved attention while shopping.

Now I need to shop responsibly and not get too carried away with being a fairly recent citizen of Wyoming. My retro vintage fashion collection of denim just happens to work beautifully with the clothing style I love and the western town we are blessed to be in. My denim overalls that I have, from my early 20’s are quite a collection too. I have five, and all are in really good shape except for a little wear on the leg bottoms. These are more for my ‘farming’ look, which works well in Wyoming too!
