All Things Collecting is a Fun Addiction

We all start collecting at some point in our lives and we find All Things collecting is a fun addiction. It can be the wine glasses in our cupboard or the different flower bulbs in our yard. My granddaughter is collecting marbles, now that sound familiar! Of course I’m grooming her to love dishes. Here are some collecting experiences and ideas I hope you enjoy.

Collectibles at Work: Putting the collectibles to work is most of the fun of purchasing them. What better way to put sugar is an actual lidded crystal sugar jar! It is definitely nicer than anything new for my personal taste. Our houses have always been decorated with vintage and antique stuff. The first thing when we move is to pull out odd collectibles that need something to do. I love things on the counters but not too much. It is the seashell holding the bar soap that makes me happy. See some of the collectibles at work in our special spots:

Collectibles for the Home: This is an article giving my own personal background on collecting as well as diving into a few items that are dear to my soul. My true collecting started for my eleventh birthday with the active involvement of my Mother. Right now it seems I am collecting at a fever’s pitch. There is space and it must be filled! I am not to blame-my mother started it all! See my most recent find that surprises me with its current value:

Collectibles Shelf: The collecting Bug is strong and now you have too many collectibles and all of the china cabinets are full. How did that happen? It’s time to create a Collectibles Shelf. With our odd wall configuration along with the vaulted ceiling, it doesn’t take long for me to see where the ideal location is for our future shelf. See the location that won’t work for paintings but is perfect for our collectibles shelf:

Farming or Ranching Implement:? While at the local Goodwill I came across this item that instantly became a mystery. It seems to be something that’s a farming or ranching implement. I purchase it, take pictures and spread the news that I would love to find out what it is. See what my nephew nails down instantly with pictures of it on social sites along with the going price. We love this in our Ranch Room:

More Additions are Making more Collections: The latest collection started two years ago while buying small vintage plates and bowls for Christmas. I throw a few Hershey’s Kisses into them and call them Good! These dishes are pressed glass and so sweet. Just for Gifts right?! I came home two months ago with six large pressed glass dishes and the latest collection is started. The total that day was $12 from my local haunt, the infamous Goodwill. Enjoy the simple pleasure of collecting, and maybe adopt the idea of how to display some of your collectibles. Over time there will be more and more examples of collectibles I come across. My local hunting ground is the town’s Goodwill, but with this blog article section, I might just be forced to scour some garage sales this coming Spring!
